ブラウザの「mailto:」のリンクをクリックする度に、OutlookやMailのアプリが開いてイライラ…。そんな人は、ブラウザの拡張機能やその他の方法でこの悩みを解決できますが、Google信者でHTML5教の教祖でもあるPaul Irish氏が、シンプルで機能拡張も要らない方法を教えてくれました。

　

やり方は以下の通りです。

  1. GmailをChromeで開きます。
  2. 「Ctrl＋Shift＋J」（Windowsの場合）か、「Cmd＋Opt＋J」（Macの場合）を押し、ChromeのビルトインのJavaScriptコンソールを開きます。
  3. 以下の文字列をコンソールにペーストし、Enterキーを押します。

    4. navigator.registerProtocolHandler(“mailto”,
    “https://mail.google.com/mail/?extsrc=mailto&url=%s”,
    “Gmail”);

  4. Chromeが「すべてのEメールのリンクでGmail（mail.google.com）を開きますか？」と聞いてくるので、「Use Gmail」のボタンをクリックします。

うまくいったかどうか、この「mailto:」のリンクをクリックして試してみてください。Gmailの新規メッセージが開いて、宛先がHTML5教のIrish氏のポストになっていればOKです。
